Accreditation

Welcome to UC Merced’s Accreditation website. Here you will find complete information related to UC Merced’s accreditation by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).

In July 2018, UC Merced’s accreditation by WSCUC was reaffirmed for a 10-year period, the maximum term possible. The Commission Action Letter conveying UC Merced’s accreditation is here.

The commission’s decision was informed by the report of the review team, that conducted the Accreditation Visit to UC Merced from February 26 to March 1, 2018, and by UC Merced’s Institutional Report for Reaffirmation, submitted to WSCUC on July 25, 2017. A full description of the reaffirmation process, including links to relevant documents, can be found here.

On November 1, 2021, UC Merced submitted to WSCUC an Interim Report as requested by the WSCUC Commission in its 2018 letter reaffirming UC Merced’s accreditation. The Interim Report and associated appendices are available here together with an overview of the interim report process.
