UC Merced - Accreditation and WASC information

Welcome to UC Merced’s Accreditation Website

Here you will find complete information related to UC Merced’s accreditation by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).

In October 2025, UC Merced initiated its reaffirmation of accreditation process, which will conclude in spring of 2028. Information about the process, including membership of the Steering Committee and its charge, are found under the "2028 Reaffirmation" tab. The pages will be updated as our work progresses, so please return there to learn more.

Previously, UC Merced’s WSCUC accreditation was reaffirmed for a 10-year period, the maximum term possible, in July 2018. The Commission Action Letter conveys UC Merced’s accreditation. UC Merced submitted an Interim Report to WSCUC on November 1, 2021, which resulted in Action Summary from WSCUC.

UC Merced appreciates the opportunity to reflect on its work and looks forward to this reaffrimation cycle, including the guidance that will be offered by the review team and the WSCUC Commission.
